Sorrento: Kochkurs & Limoncello-Herstellung mit Meerblick

This class was nothing short of brilliant. It was the perfect relaxing evening from start finish from being driven to the class by the lovely Salvatore to sitting and watching the sunset over the most picturesque view of the coast with no time restraint or pressure to quickly finish our 4 course meal. This was the highlight of our trip to Sorrento. During the class we had heaps of fun with Harisa and Rita who were so generous and helpful while teaching us how to make, Ravioli Caprese, Gnocchi, Parmigiana and Tirmaisu. As a family we all agree the Ravioli Caprese was the best we’d had all week ,if ever!! This experience is a must if you’re after an authentic Italian experience surrounded by great food and even better company, we cannot wait to return!!

It was a nice kitchen with a beautiful view, and the people running the class were very friendly. However, I found the title a little misleading, as “cooking class + limoncello making” made us expect that we would also be making limoncello, which wasn’t really the case. The class also felt more like a demonstration than a hands-on cooking class. For most of the session, we were watching the instructors prepare the food while they explained the process, rather than actually getting involved ourselves. When it came to making the pasta, there also wasn’t enough equipment for everyone to participate at the same time. Unfortunately, the group wasn’t particularly good at sharing the equipment, so we ended up spending quite a bit of time standing around watching other people make the pasta instead of making it ourselves. Overall, I would say this class is fine if you’re a complete beginner and have never cooked before.
