Von Neapel: Tagesausflug nach Herculaneum, Vesuv & Pompeji

Dit is geen aanrader. Geen value for money. De chauffeur rijdt je rond maar vertelt bijna niets onderweg. De tickets voor Pompeii en Herculaneum zijn niet inbegrepen (resp. 20€ en 16€ per persoon). De tickets voor de Vesuvius zijn vreemd genoeg wel inbegrepen maar door weersomstandigheden is Vesuvius vaak gesloten en gaat dat onderdeel van de toer niet door. Kortom, zoek een andere toer!

The only good thing about this tour that day was our driver, Cesare was a very nice and polite guy. For the price, I think this is too expensive because the entrance tickets to both Herculaneum and Pompeii are not included. It's €18 for the express ticket of Pompeii and €16 for Herculaneum. We didn't get much time in Pompeii, the time allocated was 2 hours, but they didn't provide you the entrance ticket in advance, so we got there just before 9am and there were already quite many people queueing. It took me almost 30 mins to get in (Pompeii opens at 9am), and we were told to gather back at the meeting spot at 11am, so we only had less than 1.5hrs to explore Pompeii, which was way insufficient. Pompeii is huge, there were so many spots I couldn't see as I had to allocate time to walk back. I suggest doing Pompeii only plus Mt Vesuvius, forget about Herculaneum since Pompeii is better. Cesare felt bad and gave us more time in Herculaneum. Hiking to the crater of Mt Vesuvius was great.

hele leuke tour. de tijd in pompei is wel te kort. daar hadden wij graag wat extra tijd besteed. De tijd voor.de lunch hadden we daar graag voor ingeruild. de lunch bij de vesuvius was oke maar relatief prijzig en personeel niet zo vriendelijk. de klim naar de vesuvius krater was best even pittig maar te doen en de moeite waard. echt heel mooi. de limencelloproeverij was leuk. onze gids David was heel vriendelijke en gastvrij.

The trip was very good organised, good driver and nice guide, arrival in time. I made the booking online one night before. Ideal if you have not much time to visit, but bear in mind, it is rush to do it all in one day. Disappointed on the information while booking: this is not clear: tickets are not included (you have to book yourself in advance to avoid long waiting), & it is not a guided tour as such, the guide gives an explanation on the bus, which is good, but there is no guidance during the visits, nor is there an audio guide provided. This information is only clear after you select the booking, but not before, which is a bit misleading (I found out during the trip). So it felt more as a taxi service, but again no complaints about the driver and guide !.

No contact to the guide or driver. Tried calling a number from the app, wrote in a chat option the previous day, no one answered me. The weather forecast was heavy rain and yellow code for strong winds. Tried to understand if the tour will even take place in such conditions. On the morning of the tour it was raining cats and dogs with a strong wind, could not even keep an umbrella open without breaking it. The driver wrote me 20min before departure to say hi. That was it. I wrote we will not participate in this weather and not to wait for us. Very disappointed of the organization and not canceling the tour due to the bad weather.

The perfect way to see both of these classical sites if you are short on time. Davide was a really helpful, clear and efficient host and driver. We had enough time to see everything we wanted to and more at Herculaneum and Pompeii. While we couldn’t enter the summit of Vesuvius due to the weather, we were then able to spend more time at Pompeii, which was great for us as there is enough to see there over 1-2 days.

The trip overall was very nice. Liked both of the ruins and loved the vesuvius as well. However, I wouldn't consider it a good value for money, because the tickets for Ercolano and Pompeii were excluded, which means we basically paid 120e just for transportation and the local fella accompanying us to the entrance of the tourist attractions. Not much info was given about the places either.

Luca, unser Fahrer war sehr nett und brachte uns zuerst zum Herculaneum, dann zum Vesuv und danach nach Pompeji. Sehr gut war, dass wir gleich früh zur Öffnung des Herculaneums da waren. So waren wir die ersten, die rein kamen und konnten uns gut umsehen. Nach 1 Stunde kamen immer mehr Menschenmassen, da ist es schwierig alles zu sehen. Leider reichte die Zeit von 2 Stunden nicht aus um alles zu sehen. Der Vesuv war großartig. Man muss schon eine schöne Strecke hoch laufen, aber das war es definitiv wert! Die Zeit war aber auch hier knapp bemessen. Zu lange sollte man sich oben nicht aufhalten, da es gleich weiter nach Pompeji ging. Pompeji ist riesengroß, da reichen die 2 Stunden nicht aus. Es ist überwältigend. Fürs erste Mal, kurz rein zu schnuppern reicht es aus. In Pompeji kann man sich verlaufen, deswegen schön die Zeit im Blick behalten. Ich werde auf jeden Fall wieder kommen und einen ganzen Tag nur für Pompeji einplanen.

Luca chatted to us enroute and explained some of the history and pointed out the sights. Was expecting the tickets to all 3 attractions to be included but only mount vesuvius was. Water was provided. Luca very kindly dropped us off closer to our accommodation than the meet point which was a 20 minute walk away
