Neapel: Geführte Tour durch das Archäologische Nationalmuseum

I was disappointed with the tour. Only 5 out of 20 headphones worked so some people did not have any. The guide focused on some less interesting objects and insisted on people looking at him while he provided general information about the objects instead of allowing the participants to focus on the objects while he spoke. In addition, he ignored the fact that several members of the small semi-private tour group were very knowledgeable about Roman history and many of the objects. This was an expensive tour which did not live up to my expectations. We would have enjoyed the museum much more if we simply toured on our own.

We had a fantastic day exploring the National Archaeological Museum in Naples with our wonderful guide, Federica. From the moment we met, she was friendly, welcoming and incredibly knowledgeable, making the whole experience fascinating and enjoyable. Federica’s passion for history and archaeology really brought the museum’s incredible collections to life, sharing fascinating stories and insights that helped us appreciate the significance of the remarkable artefacts on display. We particularly enjoyed learning more about the extraordinary treasures from Pompeii and Herculaneum and understanding their historical importance. Federica was engaging throughout, answered all our questions and made sure we never felt rushed. Her enthusiasm and expertise made the visit truly memorable and one of the highlights of our time in Naples. We would highly recommend Federica and her tour.

Our guide did great. We learned alot during the tour about Pompeii. We had just gone to the Pompeii site two days before and it was alot of different information. Just so others know, some of the museum is not airconditioned and as it gets hotter in the day they close the rooms down (or they did in August at least). So if you go on the earlier morning tours there are more open rooms available to look through. I had almost rebooked for the afternoon but I'm glad I didn't as we would have missed a big chunk of the tour (although there was much more in the museum that we could have seen instead)
