Villa del Balbianello: Geführte Besichtigung & Faszinierende Geschichte

We could not get to it because the main road was closed, the only detour would’ve made us 2 hours late for the event since the main road was closed so we could not attend and were denied any sort of reschedule or refund request. This was the main event of our trip and nobody has been understanding to an unavoidable event such as the main road closure

I booked an English speaking tour and the guide informed me that we were waiting for additional people that spoke Italian and that we had signed up for a bilingual tour. That was simply not true. She eventually switched to all English because the Italians said they understood English but the guide was not forthright about the tour, not interested in answering questions and when she did, she was curt. She was definitely knowledgeable but people skills are very important for tour guides, and she lacked them.

The experience was great overall especially as our guide was very thorough, knowledgeable, welcoming and she made sure we had an excellent time. The location was stunning and the pace was good, just take plenty of water on a hot summer day. FYI, it’s a 25 min walk from Lenno up some small steep hill area but nice views. You can take a shuttle back to Lenno at a small fee but walking back was a breeze.

Very welcoming and friendly guide, informative tour through the house and gardens. Really enjoyed the boat tour too. The ‘GetYourGuide’ price was significantly more than the door price but we were late booking. If you want it at cost price the staff recommend booking 1 month in advance. Also, if you have members in your party who are mainly going for the ‘Star Wars’ and ‘James Bond’ photo opportunities, you can have those with just a garden entry ticket on the door for €15.
