I had hoped to find someone to talk to there. There are many tour guides on site who lead tourists through the complex. As a German tourist with only a limited knowledge of Italian and some rusty school English, it’s hard to get by in situations like that. At first, I didn’t realize the tour guide was hidden online on my smartphone. To be honest, I wasn’t really happy about it either. Because you first have to find your way around on the map. At 40 degrees and with little shade, that’s all just too exhausting. It’s much more convenient with Google Lens. Just point the camera at the object, and you’ll know right away what’s going on there. An Italian friend had booked the tour for my wife and me. Pompeii is definitely worth a visit. As a visitor, though, I’d like to see more places to sit in the shade and more water vending machines scattered throughout the site.

I visited the Archaeological Park of Pompeii, and I have to say it was an indescribable experience. I didn’t expect such a vast and well-preserved city; it really feels like stepping back in time 2,000 years. Walking through the original streets, entering the houses, the baths, and the Forum is something that leaves you speechless. You can sense the daily life of the Romans in every detail, from the frescoes and mosaics to the inscriptions on the walls. The site is enormous, so I recommend wearing comfortable shoes and setting aside at least 4–5 hours. I found everything very well organized, with clear maps and extremely kind and helpful staff. The most moving moment was seeing the casts of the victims and the Amphitheater. It’s an experience I recommend to everyone—Italians and foreigners alike—at least once in a lifetime. A heritage site unlike any other in the world. I’ll definitely be back to see the newly reopened domus!

Your audio guide tour was just like cheating with customer. I cannot use the service while I had prorated iPhone 16e with me. I received unhelpful services at the gate. You must provide adequate services for international tourists. I paid additional money for four tickets (for a family tour) with audio guide. After telling them (communicating through chat), and I was not refunded additional money while we did not use or receive audio guide facilities.
