Tour guidato di Siracusa e dell'isola di Ortigia da Taormina

mooie plaats om te bezichtigen maar je betaalt voornamelijk voor het vervoer, we boekten voor engelse gids, maar alles werd minimaal in 2 talen toegelicht,, wat best ophoudt qua tijd. Te lange pauze onderweg op een dag dat je toch al relatief lang onderweg bent. Alle entreekosten komen er dan nog bij ..dat was vooraf wel bekend hoor maar dat maakt de prijs kwaliteit beleving toch wat tegenvallen. De gids was wel zo vriendelijk om geld te wisselen.

Ik vond het matig. Alles werd afgeraffeld. je kreeg weinig tijd. Bij het theather mocht je alleen aan de zijkant kijken. Je mocht niet door lopen om het podium van voren te zien. Toen ik vroeg waarom we niet verder het pad afliepen. zei de gids ik heb alles eral over verteld. Ik zelf kom niet voor het verhaal. dat kan ik zelf ook wel terug vinden op Google. Ik wil het juist zien. Ik ben hier maar 1 keer. Ook de wandeling in Syracuse was heel beperkt. na 3 stops werd je een restaurant binnen gebracht voor de lunch. Ik ben hier afgehaakt. Ik bepaal zelf liever waar ik eet. bovendien kost het heel veel tijd wanneer 30 mensen tegelijk moeten eten. Jammer van de tijd. De tijd die je hebt om Syracuse zelf te ontdekken is beperkt. In de omschrijving stond dat je ook een museum ging bezoeken. dat gebeurde ook niet.

coach, coach driver and Alexander were great. However the additional Italian guide was difficult to understand sometimes. It would have helped if he had a microphone and we all wore the ear phones with receivers. There was relatively little information given that I did not know. His walking pace was too quick and therefore easily to loose track of him. It would have helped if he carried a umbrella or something similar. I would have preferred spending more time in Ortiago as by the time we arrived, at this beautiful Island, we needed food and water first which left little time to look around. Finally

It was ok. There was a lot more walking than it says in the description, which was a bit of a problem as our son has to walk with a cane and can't walk for long periods. ( If you struggle with walking this trip is not for you). When we reached the island, we separated from the tour guide and got on the motorbike rickshaw. That was the best part of the trip. We highly recommend you you do that.

The description of the trip did not live up to to the actual experience. Took longer to get there than expected and arrival back in Taormina was 2 hours later than advertised. It was annoying and tiring to listen to the guide explaining in 3 languages on the coach. No fault of her own. But found her manner quite abrupt. I wish I had booked a private tour as we were 9 people in our group. We were disappointed with the whole experience. The only good thing we found a lovely little cafe that served excellent fresh fish !
