Tour in piccolo gruppo degli Uffizi e dell'Accademia a Firenze

Elena was the most knowledgeable guide! There is so much to experience in these two museums, and she did an incredible job of choosing the highlights and moving us through at a pace that was comfortable and allowed us to see a good overview. You could spend numerous days in these areas and still not see everything. So fascinating! She was excellent at giving us art, political, and cultural history including areas of the city surrounding the museums. Loved this activity!

We unfortunately tried to walk 7 mins from hotel to meeting place, google maps kept taking us to different places so we got lost and were late. Apparently you need a different google map in Florence. If we had clicked on map in booking would have been fine but used a different phone. So be wary! However booking team were wonderful and went out of there way to help us and we arrived without missing too much. Felt a bit rushed but so much to see that pace was right and information great although had to concentrate because of accent. Maybe could have done Academia without guide but easier that sifting through information and got a commentary on way to Uffizi which was a bonus

Our tour was good but the company definitely needs to invest in a new microphone or better still, a head set for the tour guide. Our guide’s microphone kept rolling on her lanyard which made it hard to hear her. When hubby mentioned this to her, she did not take it well & said it was the background noise- it was not. Another family left the group early telling her they were hot & tired. They told us they were leaving because they couldn’t hear her either.

This tour was excellent from start to finish. Even before the start, communication with the company was excellent. As someone, who doesn’t quite understand the art, I thought a guided tour would be best and it didn’t disappoint. Our guide explained everything extremely well and made sure we weren’t overloaded with information. Also, being with a group means you have a dedicated line to join at the Uffizi. Advice for future travellers: you will be quite tired after this tour. I made the error of including a Pitti and Boboli ticket with my purchase and underestimated how tired I would be and overestimated how much I could do in a day. This was my last day in Florence and I just couldn’t manage to do the rest. However, if you do get it included, it is definitely worth the value and it’s valid for 5 days from the day of your museum tour.
