Da Roma: Pompei e Costiera Amalfitana con Positano o Sorrento

Even though our itinerary was updated to Sorrento the day before due to group size, it turned out to be a fantastic change of plans! Sorrento is charming, filled with great, budget-friendly local shops, and packed with wonderful dining options—we even enjoyed a delicious lunch overlooking the stunning coastal views. Our bus was clean and very comfortable, and our driver, Roberto , handled the roads expertly. A huge shoutout to our incredible guide, Marie! She is a wealth of knowledge, sharing fascinating history about Rome, Sorrento, and Pompeil that kept us engaged and entertained throughout the long day. Our dedicated guide at Pompeii , Lucas, was also fantastic —so funny, passionate, and vivid in bringing the ancient history to life. Overall, it was a wonderful day trip from start to finish. We couldn't be happier with our guides and driver, and we highly recommend this tour!

Our guide, Giuliano was wonderful, very informative very kind. Our driver was nice as well and the transport van we road in was very nice. First class all the way. The destinations were wonderful. Pompeii was truly amazing so was the stop in Sorrento and at the Limoncello factory. We had a slight problem with our reservation but a call to GetYourGuide and they made it right. They were very responsive and anxious to help us. Overall, the trip was excellent and I would recommend it.

Lovely Day Trip to Positano & Pompeii We left around 7:15 AM, starting with a limoncello tasting and a quick photo stop overlooking the coast before dividing into Positano and Sorrento groups. I chose Positano and loved it! I speed-walked through the maze of streets down to the beach, grabbed a cornetto sandwich, gelato and cola from a takeaway place Aubin recommended, ate by the water, and even managed a quick dip before trekking back to our meeting point. One tip: if you get carsick easily, you may want to consider the Sorrento option. The drive to Positano has plenty of winding roads up the hills and down toward the coast. In Pompeii, our guide Sasha was informative and funny, and I enjoyed seeing the art, ruins and artifacts. We also had time for a restroom and refreshment break.Aubin was helpful and informative, and our driver Antonelo got us back safely. Our group was punctual, so there were no unnecessary delays. I only wish we had more time in Positano—at least two hours.

Overall, the trip was good and the bus ride was comfortable. We went through Pompeii very quickly and didn’t have enough time to really see and appreciate the site. I expected more stories and information about Pompeii’s history, but instead, the guide repeatedly joked about hoping he wouldn’t die in the heat. It might have been funny once, but after hearing it several times, it wasn’t anymore. The travel time was also longer than the time spent exploring. Two hours in Sorrento is not enough, and neither is enough time for Pompeii. Whether it’s worth it is up to everyone to decide. Personally, I would recommend choosing just one destination and spending more quality time there, rather than trying to see both in such a short time.

We had a great day trip visiting Positano and Pompeii, with stops for toilet break, coffee and food, and chocolate/limoncello tasting (can buy lemon slush instead for non alcoholic drink)! We drove through Naples (with views of Vesuvius), Meta (with great views of Sorrento), along the Amalfi coast (with views of Capri and Rooster islands). The driver (Marc) was a very competent driver. Our guide Paula was very entertaining and knowledgeable, and she took great care of us all, checking in with us all the time about the aircon and our needs, and imparting valuable history and knowledge about the region! Our guide at Pompeii (Michael) was also very entertaining and showed us some highlight spots with explanations on their history. Especially on a hot day such as in July that we went, the itinerary was just the perfect amount of activities and breaks! Would highly recommend for a quick one day coverage of the Amalfi coast and Pompeii!
