Firenze: Tour Guidato Mattutino della Galleria degli Uffizi

This tour was perfect for the short time we had in Florence. Our guide Ivano is terrific - incredibly knowledgable, scholarly, well traveled and a wry sense of humor! It was wonderful to be able to go into the UG with ease amongst throngs of people and Ivano took us to see all the most interesting works and relate them in modern way (think Uma Thurman as the face of Boticelli's Venus!) Our 2 teens actually kept up and kept interested. UG is huge - could take a full day for the whole gallery, but we easily saw the best works in 2 hours. Be prepared for crowds. You do get to stay in the UG after the tour so you can stay and wander at your leisure. Grazie Ivano!

This was probably our best experience in Florence. Elisabetta was an absolutely incredible guide - taking us through a whole semester’s worth of Renaissance art history in two hours. She was so engaging and enthusiastic and expertly navigated us through the museum. This is well worth doing and the early-ish slot means that it’s crowded but not absolutely rammed.

Francesca was a wonderful and courteous Italian guide (with excellent English and charming accent) who educated us on all the Uffizi highlights in a 2 hour morning tour. We used headphones and had a group of 7, which was perfect. I just wanted the highlights and I find I learn so much more with a guide. Well worth the money. We skipped the line too.

Complimenti davvero.
