La Spezia: Escursione Guidata a Piedi tra i Borghi delle Cinque Terre

I had a wonderful bucket list hike in the Cinque Terre. Sabrina our guide was absolutely lovely and very knowof the area. She collected us smoothly from the cruise ship terminal. Our day was extremely hot so she slightly adapted the itinerary for the conditions. Please only undertake this hike if you are a fit, regular hiker with good condition. I hike weekly to 10km and it was tough. We had some in our group that should never had signed up and ended up being turned around. They were not fit enough. Our hike, plus walking to and from the train would had been 8kms at least, much of it up very steep and unstable hills. I loved it!

Supposed to hike from mannora to riamaggoria. Over 30 degrees. Sunny. Very hot. Left mannora at 11:00am. Still climbing straight up at 1:00pm. Could not continue due to exhaustion. Was supposed to hike for 3 hours. Climbed straight up for 2 hours. Still had not made the top. Suppose to hike for 3 hours. I don’t know how we were going to get down in one hour. Anyone doing this tour has to be in excellent shape. Have excellent cardio. Be an excellent climber. My wife and I left after climbing for 2 hours. Walked a trail to the road and flagged down a bus. Definitely think we deserve our money back for miscommunication. This was not a hike. This was a climb. No pictures were taken. Not enjoyable at all. Please reply to comment

We had an amazing day hiking in the Cinque Terre with a very kind and knowledgeable guide! The views from the trail were amazing and we enjoyed a couple of stops along the way for treats and lunch. Keep in mind this is a lot of walking and parts of the trail are very steep - the views are worth it but you should be in good physical condition and wearing good shoes! We weren’t able to get to all of the villages because we were with a larger group but the slower pace worked out for our family which included kids 11 and 18. Our guide kept everything fun and was simply amazing!

*The previous reviews of this tour on this page were from the old version of this tour. It has been revised and is much easier to hike.* This tour was the highlight of our entire cruise! We had such a wonderful time, we did not want the day to end. Once we disembarked our cruise ship, right at the terminal we found our tour guide, Sabrina, waiting for us. From there onwards it was complete smooth sailing as Sabrina handled everything - all we had to do was walk and take in the sights. The tour includes a small glimpse of La Spezia, very comfortable (and fancy) train rides, a beautiful and a somewhat easy hike/walk through vineyards and forest and three of the Cique Terre with relaxing time to stroll and explore. Sabrina, our guide, was most lovely and knowledgeable about the area and any questions we had. She made the whole experience so wonderful and enjoyable. She even took into account the group’s fitness level as a whole and adapted the routes for everyone’s enjoyment. 10/10!

They canceled this activity the night before and offered me what they called an upgrade. I had to decide quickly, so I excepted because I had no other plans in place. What it really was was a chaperone who took me to the train station and then told us to go and be back in 40 minutes, and then they would have escorted me to the next island. The hike is a clearly labeled path for everyone to follow, so you don’t need a tour guide for that anyway. When we realized that this was not truly a tour, we informed the guide that we were leaving, and went on our own. We are now fighting to get our money back.
