Tour Privato 4x4 Etna da Taormina: Cratere, Grotta di Lava e Panorami mozzafiato

We enjoyed our tour & found it interesting but it didn’t live up to the expectations set by the reviews we read from other people before we booked it. I guess all guides are different… The transport was all good, prompt pickup, smooth drive, fairly snug for the 3 in the back seat but ok. The stop at the old lava flow was pretty & interesting. The lava cave was ok, we had to retreat due to bats. We reached the car park area at 2000ft where all the tourists & buses park up & took a hike around the craters - it was quite physical & a very hot day. It was very pretty & some great views. We had a short time (20-30mins) after the hike to get some lunch, taking the cable car wasn’t suggested & we didn’t feel we had the time to do so or explore the area. It didn’t feel very off the beaten track & from the photos & reviews we thought we’d be more off road.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worth every cent! What a fantastic day we spent visiting Mount Etna with our private guide Vero! From start to finish, it was an unforgettable experience. We had the chance to see extraordinary sites and landscapes that we would never have discovered on our own. Vero was absolutely fantastic — fun, passionate, and extremely knowledgeable about the volcano. If you’re in Sicily and thinking about a trip to Etna, don’t hesitate: book with Vero. Highly recommended! Thank you for a perfect day! 🌋

We chose to do a private Etna tour as we had my elderly mother (78) with us. Rosario was our guide and driver for the day. I cannot recommend him enough. He was so knowledgeable and passionate about the geology and history of the area. The tour exceeded all expectations. We had a brilliant time and my mum was able to participate fully. Thank you Rosario, as Mum said, you made the holiday. ☀️🌋❤️

Our private Mount Etna tour was unforgettable. Our guide picked us up in Taormina and set the tone for an incredible day of adventure. On the drive toward Catania, he shared fascinating facts about the region and the volcano’s history, making the journey just as memorable as the destination. In just eight hours, we experienced all four seasons. We drove through dramatic mountainous landscapes and past vast hardened lava flows, then explored an incredible lava tube — a true highlight. We later stopped at Etna’s base camp, for a quick bite before continuing up to the Silvestri Crater. Our guide, who goes by “Sicily Legend,” was friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel completely safe throughout the day. I only wish I knew his real name to thank him properly. If you’re visiting Sicily, don’t miss this tour!

This was a fantastic tour and our guide Jean was amazing. He made the tour! His knowledge and his friendly dispostion were exemplary. We did a lot of tours on our trip and his was truly a highlight. We were at Mt Etna just days before and eruption but if we had been there when it happened we would have felt safe with him. Highly recommend this tour.
