Sorrento: Lezione di Cucina Tradizionale con Chef Professionista

What an incredible experience from start to finish! The cookery class was so amazing, there was truly nothing to fault. We were taken by transfer from Sorrento to the Unconventional Hotel location. When we arrived, we were greeted by Michele, who was so warm, friendly, and happy to meet us. She then took us around the hotel's gardens and we had the opportunity to pick some of our own fresh ingredients to cook with. Our hosts were so kind in providing us refreshments throughout our activity. Madda was an amazing, patient and professional chef. We learned so much from our experience and it was such a nice touch to take lots of pictures and have recipes to take home from the day. We feel we have made friends from afar with both Madda and Michele. It was an unforgettable experience with amazing food, friends and memories to cherish and was one of the best experiences we have had.....ever. You have to go and would highly recommend for anyone staying at Sorrento.

This was THE BEST activity that we did on our vacation! Chef Chlorinda and Chef Miguel were amazing and we were fortunate to have them all to ourselves! Everyone at the hotel, from the bartender to the dishwasher, were extremely helpful and engaged. We felt like celebrities and it couldn’t have been a better birthday celebration for my friend, who turned 54 that day! Thank you so much for the experience and all the knowledge we gained!

Para quem curte cozinhar, vale muito a pena! Alem do pessoal super simpatico, aprendemos alguns segredinhos bem legais para fazer o tiramissu, o ravioli, o molho de tomate, a lasanha de beringela e o limoncello. Depois é so se deliciar! Toda equipe super atenciosa e simpatica (incluindo ai o escritorio da Yamma me que me ajudou com outra logistica que precisava com o maior prazer). Super recomendo!

This was a great activity! The driver who is also the pizza chef was prompt and very nice. There are two classes you can take: pizza making or pasta making. I did the pasta making class. Lara taught me how to make eggplant Parmesan and Ravioli. She was very nice and spoke English very well. Her instructions were very clear. I was worried this wouldn’t be a very hand-on experience after reading the reviews. However, this was not the case. While some of the ingredients were premade it was still very hands- on from making the dough to boiling the pasta. It was so much fun and I would definitely do this again. They are located in the hills of Sorrento and it is very beautiful. I highly recommend this activity to anyone who loves to cook or wants to improve their cooking skills. I was able to get the recipes and learn the techniques to make them. So I will definitely be making this at home. I also ended up getting a private lesson because it was slow season. I recommend going in winter.

Loved the experience and the range of foods and instructions we were given to make the food. The instructor was good. However, it was quite basic for what we paid for. We were only there for 2 hours when it was advertised for 3 hours. Thought we would’ve made the dessert but got it handed to us. Didn’t finish with limoncello either like they had advertised. Didn’t think it was worth the money we paid, thought there would’ve been much more for the price!

We watched someone make mozzarella cheese and tried it with some olive oils and balsamic glazed- delicious! It was fun to learn to cook ravioli and zucchini involtini. So much more of the process could have been hands on- they did most of it- making the sauce and frying zucchini, mixing cheeses, etc. There was a few other classes going on and we were inside with a bachelor party that was extremely loud; my father had to go out to the balcony a few times to take a deep breath. They gave us tiramisu at the end that they had made. About 8 of us shared a lovely bottle of local wine and lots of water during the class. We had cute aprons provided too during the class. If I did it again I think I would have gone to someone’s house and had a more private, quieter experience.

We really enjoyed this cooking class! We learnt how to make a caprese salad, a dish with aubergines, ravioli and a tiramisu which was already made and given to us at the end. Although I wish we received the recipes on a sheet of paper so we could remember at home and a lot of the ingredients were pre-prepared like the tomato sauce and aubergines (which I understand as this takes time.) The host and her husband are very friendly and supply you with endless bottles of wine. We were very lucky as our group contained really lovely people and I think that is what makes it.

Our best family experience on our vacation to Italy. We had our 4 kids with us (5-14) and they all were able to fully participate and make their own dishes. We also had a great time getting to know a great couple from the UK because the environment is very open and social (and plenty of Vino!!!). I would recommend this experience to anyone visiting Sorrento, whether you are a couple or a family. The experience itself would have been worth it, but we also learned a lot and hope to be impressing our friends and family soon with fresh made pasta dishes!!!
