Pompei ed Ercolano da Roma: Treno Alta Velocità, Pranzo e Visite Guidate

This is excellent tour. Do know that this tour is a strenuous activity, especially on a hot day. Please know you must be able to be on your feet and walking on uneven ground for most of the day. If you can only physically handle a half day option, I would highly suggest you do a tour of Herculaneum over Pompeii. Herculaneum is far better preserved and IMHO the best part of this overall tour. Plus, it is much easier on the feet for those who have physical limitations. Pompeii is massive. Pompeii is definitely worth seeing but if you are limited on time or someone’s physical capabilities, just do Herculaneum tour only and know you have seen the best of the overall touring experience of this volcanic event. Italia tours did an amazing job with this tour! Guide was very knowledgeable. Lunch was great. Transfers were smooth. No complaints whatsoever. Would definitely use them again for a future tour.

There are not enough words to describe how amazing this trip was and our guide, she did a phenomenal job. Her knowledge of the history of both cities was outstanding and when asked questions she provided clear answers that has made me want to learn more about both cities. I will highly recommend this tour to my friends as it is well worth the money spent.

This tour was simply outstanding! Everything was so well organized and professional. Our guide Chiara was just amazing! So well informed on all aspects of what we were seeing and was able, with her knowledge and lovely personality, to bring the history of Pompeii and Herculaneum to life. We also took the lunch option, which I would highly recommend as it's a long day and the meal was outstanding. Thank you so much Chiara we really loved everything about our day trip form Rome to Pompeii and Herculaneum. Highly recommended.

Chiara, our guide, is incredibly knowledgeable about Pompeii and the Herculaneum! She also managed to keep all of us, children included, moving at an excellent pace, navigating through the enormous sites to see the most beautiful and important artefacts and ruins. We had time for photos and were able to stay healthy as she knew where and when to see specific sites that had shade (it was a HOT day). She managed to take us to sites overlooked by many visitors. She was notably polite and courteous to her colleagues, too. She made us all feel safe and we all learned a lot! Transportation was made really easy by the guides who explained clearly the train and meeting points. They escorted us between the train and mini bus. The train had reserved seats. The train and mini bus were comfortable and air conditioned. This daytrip was incredible!

Pompeii was crowded though with our guide showing us the “best of” and the headsets, it was very enjoyable! I really think our guide made the difference especially given the crowd. Herculaneum was my favorite. It was less crowded and had well preserved frescos. Our guide Vince was amazing! He spoke English perfectly and was able to answer any question we had and truly made the tour engaging. We chose an option with lunch included and they were able to accommodate my gluten and lactose intolerance. The pizza eaters really enjoyed what they had.

It was a full day and lots of walking. It was to be expected of course. But to see both sites, the buildings, the frescoes, and to walk down the streets with the volcano looming in the background was amazing. The lunch was fantastic. The tour guide you can tell was very informed and loved what she was doing. Even our driver was friendly and did a great job. Make sure you bring a water bottle and wear a hat and sunscreen.
