Caccia al tartufo a San Gimignano con cani addestrati

I liked that it was a unique experience. When else would you ever go truffle hunting! Dominick, the guide, was great. He was an expert hunter with his two smart dogs who were also very friendly. We leaned about the 9 types of truffles and found alot of summer truffles. We all went home with truffles as well! On a hot day, the forest was cool and made the experience even better.

We had an amazing time with Domenico and his two super talented dogs. Domenico is extremely knowledgeable about the truffles and the land and is very enthusiastic to share it. Because he comes from a family of truffle hunters, he also knows a lot about the background and culture of truffle hunting. Doing the experience of truffle hunting with him and the dogs is something we would recommend to anyone!

Our guide Domenico and his lovely dogs Cuba and Tita were wonderful! We had such an amazing experience going into the forest and searching for truffles for the first time - and wr did find quite a number of black truffles! The whole tour was very interactive and Domenico was able to answer any questions we had. It was really interesting to learn how the adorable dogs were trained to hunt truffles, how hunters identify the quality of the truffles, and the history of his and his family’s truffle hunting profession. I would strongly recommend this experience to anyone visiting the Tuscany area.

Amazing experience. Domenico was a very thoughtful and communicative guide who explained the basics of truffles, truffle hunting, and how to raise such amazing truffle hunting dogs. Cuba was the star of the show and he was a shy dog before we got to the forest but became a machine in the forest where he displayed his amazing talent for finding truffles. Five star experience.

Domenico’s passion for truffle hunting is obvious from the moment you meet him, and he genuinely cares about every visitor having a great time. He went above and beyond for us, even helping with car trouble and checking in afterward. His bond with his dogs is something special; you can tell the dog loves the hunt as much as the guests do. 10/10, and a perfect activity if you’re staying near San Gimignano.
