We booked this tour as it advertised it would start at 9.30, and we particularly wanted an early tour. It did say in the small print that the timings might be changed. However, it was not until a couple of days beforehand that we were informed that the time had changed to 11.30. This meant that the museum was already extremely busy, which is what we had wanted to avoid. By then it was too late for us to book an alternative, , By the time we had been taken to meet our guide and entered the museum, it was nearly midday. I had done a previous tour a few years ago that I booked directly with the Vatican, and our guide at that time gave us lots of detail about painting techniques, which I felt was missing from this tour, and it felt quite rushed. Also we were only given 10 minutes in the Sistine chapel, whereas other tours were there for 20 minutes. Our guide was very nice, and knowledgeable, but the logistics of the tour meant that overall I was disappointed.
