Mount Etna & Alcantara River Tour from Catania: Nature, Flavors & Lava Caves

Alessandro what the most PERFECT guide! We could not have asked for more - he was so knowledgeable about Etna and wider Sicily! He went above and beyond giving us recommendations for the rest of our trip! We left feeling like we had made a true friend! Etna is simply wonderful - a really emotional experience when you are at the top. It’s a very expensive trip as you have to pay additional fees for the cable cart and 4x4 but it is definitely worth it!

Booking was really easy and we received a message on the morning from our guide Giuseppe to confirm time of pick up which was great as we felt more comfortable knowing we had contact details in case of any problems finding each other. Giuseppe was a fabulous guide, very knowledgeable about the volcano and answered every question asked of him! The trip went very smoothly and at no point did we feel rushed or that we were waiting around. A great day! Big thanks to Giuseppe!

Schöner Ausflug, allerdings sein Geld nicht wert. Wir waren mit Andrea unterwegs, ein super netter Guide, sehr witzig, offen und kommunikativ. Er holte uns und 3 weitere vom Hotel ab und fuhr dann zum Ätna. Dort angekommen mussten wir ~80€ bezahlen (statt wie in der Beschreibung 67€) um mit der Seilbahn und dem Bergführer bis auf 2900m hoch zu kommen. Für den Ätna hatten wir somit gut 2,5h Zeit (inklusive Fahrt mit der Seilbahn und der Tour oben). Von dort aus ging es zu einer kleinen Lavasteinhöhle am Straßenrand, weiter zur Verkostung (lieb gemacht, aber sehr wenig und wenig spezielles) und zum Alcantara Fluss. Der Eintritt dort kostet 1,50€... Wir hatten für alles genug Zeit zur Verfügung und der Guide war wie gesagt sehr nett, allerdings war es die 100€ p. P. nicht wert, da die quasi nur für den Transport waren. Dann lieber ein Mietauto nehmen, zumal man den Aufstieg zum Vulkan eh nochmal selber zahlen muss.
