Capri Island Boat Tour with Blue Grotto Stop

Es war eine schöne Rundfahrt um die Insel. Leider war die Grotte geschlossen. Aber es war sehr touristisch und sehr viele Menschen auf dem Bot. Alle wollen immer aufstehen um Fotos zu machen und dann sieht der Rest der Leute nichts. Es war eher ein bisschen Massentourismus, nächstes Mal würde ich gerne ein kleineres Bot probieren. Die Guides haben sich aber alle sehr bemüht und waren sehr freundlich!

Leider hat man mich auf das falsche Boot geschickt und als ich es bemerkte war mein eigentliches Boot schon weg. Somit hab ich nicht ganz die gleiche Route gesehen, aber war dennoch ok. Da fehlt es leider etwas an Transparenz und Kommunikation. Hinweis von mir, sich ganz genau die mit Farben bezeichneten Routen anschauen und dann auf den Farbennamen achten der dann ausgerufen wird.

I was not expecting it to be so good! We were on a small boat (about a dozen people). The guide took us around the entire island. We couldn’t do blue grotto because it was closed (I wasn’t to fussed because I thought it might have been a bit overrated). The guide called out the landmarks as we passed and stopped the boat to allow us to take photos (also turned the boat so we could get better angles). I wasn’t expecting such a good service at midday on a Saturday in early September. Really recommend it!

Something to note: there are two aspects of this tour - 1) the boat tour around the island 2) the visit to the Blue Grotto and I will discuss both. 1) the boat tour around the island is short, gorgeous, informative, and worth the price hands down. 2) the Grotto visit is completely out of the tour’s control. When we arrived for the first boat, the gentleman distributing tickets explained that it was closed “at the moment” due to high tide. He recommended we take our tour and return later to visit the Grotto should it open. He said our ticket stubs would allow us passage to another boat bound just for the Grotto. When we got back to the dock, he told us it had opened but that the line was backed up and it would be better for us to take 45 minutes and come back when the wait had reduced some. We did exactly as he said and got into the grotto after maybe a 30-45 minute wait. Overall, could t recommend this company enough. The tour was well worth the price and they were very helpful.

We did the tour of the island on one of the larger boats owned by the company. Whilst there was no official tour guide the staff on the boat gave a great commentary of the landmarks we went past in both Italian and English. Our trip included an opportunity to go into the famous Blue Grotto but sadly the queue was too long so he wasn’t able to wait. But, as soon as we arrived back in Capri port we got straight onto one of the smaller boats and went back to wait in the queue for the Blue Grotto, with no extra charge. We waited for around an hour before we started to get taken into the sea cave on the little row boats. A great morning all round and good value for money. Just a couple of things to note, if you get sea sick take medication and entrance to the Blue Grotto is a an extra to the excursion and costs €19 per person and the gondoliers will want a tip. But to be fair they do look after you and take pictures for you as well so for me it wasn’t an issue giving them a few euros.
