Rome: Colosseum, Palatine Hill & Roman Forum Guided Tour

Leo was our guide; English speaking. He did a wonderful job! Lots of history and took time to explain the Colosseum, Forum and The Hill. Plenty of breaks and time for bathroom. There are many steps inside the Colosseum; however, an elevator for handicap. Lots of walking but so worth it to see all the sites. I highly recommend this tour. At the end of it, my family (teenage daughter and husband) raved about how good it was and well worth it time wise. Leo is wonderful!!

I am learning with these tours that the experience depends on what you’re looking for. This tour was irritating for me because the guide talked too much and we saw so little of what we’d come to see, especially in the Roman Forum and before going out to the arena floor in the Colosseum. We never even got to Palatine Hill, which was one of three sites promised by the tour. The tour was of ancient sites and he spoke mostly about how they related to the church, rather than what they were built for. Also, he spent more time showing us pictures from his book than guiding us to see the actual sites. This one felt like a big waste of money for me, and we still stood in long lines. The good side was someone else arranged for the ticket. That’s about it. An expensive lesson.
