Mt. Etna, Wine & Alcantara Gorges Tour from Catania with Lunch

Andrea was a phenomenal guide! He was incredibly knowledgeable about both Catania and the geology/history of Etna and the Alcantara Gorges - we learned a ton. Pace of the tour was great as well. Lunch was extremely filling and very authentic. Swimsuit felt optional for the gorges but definitely bring waterproof clothing if you want to go up to your knees. I recommend bringing a small backpack for water, snacks, sunscreen, hat, etc.

This was an excellent experience with a superb guide, the well-informed Mirko. We started off with a few kilometres of trekking along the slopes of Etna, followed by food and wine at a nearby winery, I believe it’s called Emilio Sciacca. The last part of the experience was a visit to the Alcantara gorge, where we also had time for a swim in the refreshing waters.

The experience was amazing! Matteo was an incredible guide, extremely knowledgeable and very well-prepared. Any minor setbacks that occurred were resolved very quickly, without any of us being inconvenienced. He truly helped us with everything we needed and taught us a lot of new and interesting things. I would highly recommend this trip to everyone, as you get to see many new places and meet people who share the same passion!

O passeio foi perfeito do início ao fim! A caminhada até o monte Etna foi super tranquila, o almoço foi delicioso e Alcantara é espetacular, eu nunca havia visto paisagens tão incríveis como neste passeio! Gostaria de destacar a gentileza do guia Matteo, além de saber nos explicar sobre tudo relacionado ao Vulcão e a história de Catânia, ele tratou a todos com muita gentileza, especialmente a mim, que tive problemas com meu celular ao final do passeio e ele não mediu esforços para me ajudar. Eu com certeza indicaria este passeio para qualquer pessoa, assim como já fiz!

we absolutely loved this trip, you get to do so much and our guide, Francesco was so knowledgeable about everything and his English was perfect! we loved hiking Etna, the lunch and wine were delicious and filling and it was also a highlight getting to see the Alcantara gorge in the same day (and worth it in August to cool down). we got picked up and dropped off at our hotel and the transport was lovely and air-conditioned. would highly recommend this trip!

Great trip. The guide knew just where to go on Etna to get us incredible views and was very knowledgeable. Lunch was excellent, and the canyon was nice and cool. Don’t expect to be able to go too far up the canyon, though. People from the canyoneering tour company were preventing people who didn’t pay for their tour from going up the fun part.
