Sorrento: Capri & Blue Grotto Boat Cruise with Swim Stops

So sad to have to leave a bad review! I had booked for the 10am - 1:45pm cruise and told to be at the pickup point at 9:45am. However, we were then kept waiting at the marina outside their office until 11:20, 1 hour and 20 mins after the supposed start time. Once we boarded there was no safety briefing or introduction, and along the entire journey there was very minimal information from our guide. We were supposed to have a few photo stops which never happened, and I don’t remember being told about them. The captain was going so fast (perhaps to make up for the late start?) that all of us passengers were going airborne as he drove over the waves which was incredibly stressful. And on top of everything, we were only given 1 swim spot. Blue grotto was closed due to tides which I totally understand, but from what this cruise advertised we should have had 1 other stop anyways.

Rafael and Francisco were brilliant and made the trip. Transport in the morning was hair raising and a perfect example of the difference between Italian and Vritish driving. The tour did what was promised. The boat didn't sail under the Faraglioni arch or enter the Blue Grotto, but this was due to how busy it was and not possible because of the short time we had. 2 swimming stops were carefully chosen by our hosts so they were not too busy, which made them more enjoyable. A thoroughly enjoyable trip and recommended to all.

The day was made great by the expert skipper of the vessel, Luca, who made every attempt to enhance the comfort and experience of all on board. His expert boat skills enabled ALL on board to gain maximum exposure to every site visited and we even visited some of his PERSONAL favourite spots. Should I return I would request he be my guide. As a boat skipper , I was in awe of his skilful manoeuvring in some tight situations, made possible by the modern technology of the vessel. GREAT DAY.

This tour is falsely advertised. We the participants on board made one stop to swim in hopes of having enough time for the Blue Grotto. At no time were we ever going to have time for the Blue Grotto. There are other tours around Capri that offer a swim at a lesser price and don’t offer the Blue Grotto to get you to pay more for something that’s not even an option. Very disappointing tour.

We booked this tour because it promised a stop at the Blue Grotto. When we arrived, the line was too long, so the crew said we’d visit the Green Grotto instead, which they claimed was “way nicer” and a place where we could swim. When we got there, other boat tours were letting people swim, but our skipper suddenly said it was illegal—after telling us earlier we could. It felt like they just couldn’t be bothered. Instead, we stopped for a quick swim somewhere else, which was nice, but not what I expected. The whole trip felt rushed, and to make things worse, the skipper and host were arguing during the tour, making it uncomfortable. The sights themselves were breathtaking, but overall, it felt disorganized, awkward, and not what we paid for.

This was one of the highlights of my trip! Half a day was the perfect amount of time for a fun boat ride around the islands, 2 swim stops with ample times for relaxing and photos. The staff on board brought great vibes and were very knowledgeable sharing info about our surroundings. Our group decided against the blue grotto as it was busy peak summer and took time away from our trip. Only critique I have was the beginning of the day was an hour spent with no information on what was happening being transported to the boat. Once on the boat though it was all worth it! Definitely recommend.

The boat was a fun time! I'm curious if they adapt to the crowd, maybe a different vibe for a more family boat? As it were, we were on a boat with mostly young, college-aged American girls. It was a bit of "party" vibes (though the boat captains were very responsible about limiting the number drinks, it was very well controlled!). But you know, music, games, spraying off with the hose even became a game! Which was the right energy for that group. My guess is they adapt to the crowd. Overall, they were a fun time, knowledgeable of the area, were safe, and the area is gorgeous. Hard NOT to have a good time!

My trip was upgraded to the full day tour due to not enough people on my original booking. We had our boat tour on a day where it was thunderstorming, so the trip around the island had to be cut short due to the weather. The guides were amazing and tried their best to make sure we still had an amazing trip. A couple on our boat didn’t listen to the guides at the start when they told us that the sea was going to be rough making the boat ride not the smoothest. This led to them yelling at the guides, and complaining about the trip. Most of the other people on the boat were fine because we understood that the boat ride would be rough. The guides handled the situation amazingly and were very professional. The day ended up clearing up and we had such a great time exploring Capri, and jumping off the boat with everyone. Definitely recommend this tour!!

The trip advertises blue grotto. If you want to go to the blue grotto, don’t book this trip. If you don’t want to go to the blue grotto, don’t book this trip. 6 out of 11 wanted to wait to enter the blue grotto. We knew it would be approx 1.5 hours and happy to wait. That’s why we booked a trip entitled ‘blue grotto’. We were constantly put off waiting, as soon as we stepped on the boat. The host went on and on about how it’s 2 minutes inside and we would be waiting a long time. Again, 6 out of 11 were aware and willing to wait. It was literally the only reason we booked this trip. After one hour of near constant stating it would be hours and hours, we relented. Plus, another couple had started to complain then as they DIDNT want to visit it and didn’t want to wait. Fair enough, I would have been annoyed too. But then again, why book a trip that says blue grotto and there will be a wait. Really advise against anyone booking this trip.
