Ravioli, Pasta and Tiramisu Class at a Local's Home in Perugia

My daughter and I had the most wonderful few hours! Laura and her family are some of the warmest and most welcoming people I have ever met. Laura is like a walking encyclopaedia, and she showed us the secrets and finer details of authentic Italian cuisine. And, as if that wasn’t enough, at the end she even helped us find my daughter’s phone, which she had lost a week earlier when we first arrived! I truly hope we have made a genuine and lasting friendship. I wholeheartedly recommend Laura’s cooking class – it was an unforgettable experience! ❤️

An amazing experience for me and my teenage sons. We really enjoyed learning how to make tiramisu and the dough for two types of pasta. We practiced making ravioli and the offcuts were rolled into a cut pasta on a special "guitar". Afterwards, we feasted on traditional caprese salad with truffle, a delicious antipasto platter, and torta testa bread warm from the oven. Followed by the ravioli we made in a sage butter sauce and the cut pasta in a rich meaty ragu. The decadent tiramisu we made together was the cherry on top! (Hint: Skip breakfast ;)

We had a lovely time with our super-friendly hosts Laura and Luca. Their restaurant/cooking school is in a stunning space in the basement of a palazzo. It is absolutely beautiful. The cooking class wasn’t as hands-on as I would have liked with plenty of watching rather than doing but it was still very nice. We did make and shape pasta but were not involved in the cooking or in the preparation of sauces. We had to ask to be able to roll some pasta. We had a huge, fantastic lunch and Laura is a pleasure to spend time with. She is super-friendly and bubbly. Overall, it was a very nice time.

Laura and Luca were amazing hosts! It was wonderful learning to cook in their cozy restaurant. They provided an excellent teaching and dining experience, my partner and I enjoyed chatting with them over the meal we had prepared. Laura is very knowledgeable about Perugian history and origins of foods which made our experience even more interesting. Thank you!
