Pasta and Tiramisu Class at a Local's Home in Sorrento

Francesca was absolutely amazing host and so hospitable, kind, generous and loving! She had a family member help her and she was so patient in teaching us how to make the tiramisu and pasta. She picked us up from our hotel and told us so much about herself, her family. We really became great friends and it felt like being part of her family. We were able to use all her local grown items into our food and it was so fresh and delicious. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience and a true hidden gem! Out of our entire 10 day Italy trip, this was the best experience and would come back to Italy just to do this all over again.

This was truly one of the most special experiences I have ever had and something I will never forget. Marilena was the most wonderful host — so warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Her English was perfect, and she made us feel completely at home. She taught us how to make authentic tagliatelle, lasagne and tiramisu from scratch, while her lovely mother Christiana welcomed us into their beautiful family home. We shared the meal together with the family and it was so lovely meeting Marilena’s husband, father and son too. We learnt about their way of life, local produce, and how Christiana makes her own tomato sauce and homemade liqueurs. Trying flavours like citrus, prickly pear, mandarin, blueberry and carob (which I’d never heard of before!) was such a fun and unique experience. The warmth, authenticity and love made this unforgettable — without a doubt one of the best things I have ever done.

Do not miss this! Maria Francesca is a fabulous host. We felt so welcome in her home. Just 10-15 min outside the city and you are in farmland. This was a full hands-on experience, and everything was ready for us. Francesca had prepared light bites using produce and olive oil from her farm, then we started serious cooking. She made it all seem easy. My daughter and I will treasure the memory of this day.

지금은 한국에 온지 2일 되었는데 이번 이탈리아 여행 중 여기는 정말 기억에 남는 부분이었습니다. 우선, 어떻게 가야하나 해서 택시를 타려했는데 택시는 너무 비싸니 왕복 70유로에 태워주신다 하셔서 원래 택시로는 편도 70유로인데 반값에 쿠킹클래스를 갈 수 있게 되었고, 무엇보다 이태리에서 파는 관광용 올리브오일이 아닌, 올리브 농장에서 직접 갓 짠 올리브오일 혹은 가정집에서 짠 올리브오일을 꼭 구하고 싶었는데 가이드님이 직접 농장도 데려다주시고 가이드님께서 집 앞 마당에 키우는 올리브나무에서 직접 딴 올리브로 만든 올리브오일도 구할 수 있었습니다. 저희를 태워다주시면서 그리고 쿠킹클래스 하는 내내 굉장히 친절하고 천천히 잘 설명히주섰고 덕분에 저희 기억에 가장 남는 수업이 될 수 있었습니다. 이 클래스를 본 분들은 소렌토에 오신다면 꼭 한번 제발 꼬옥 겅험해보셨으면 좋겠네요

We had the most amazingly good time with Allesandra learning to make pasta and tiramisu. She was welcoming and warm to our group. The view from her home was so beautiful that we had pictures made. Her instructions were very clear and she was always willing to help us. She kept it lively with music and prosecco. For dinner, we ate the pasta and tiramisu that we had prepared. She showed us how to cook the pasta and she made 2 sauces for the pastas. We had great respect for her talents. Thank you dear Allesandra for such a memorable time in Sorrento.
