Catania: Adventurous Mount Etna Hiking Tour with Full Equipment

Unfortunately, due to adverse weather conditions we couldn't hike the advertised path. However, we had great walk in Valle del Bove, we saw the newest lava from the last eruption, which was still warm!!! And after our guide drove us up to 2000mt above the sea level, firstly we stopped for refreshments and after walked in the snowed Etna! Stunning views from up there!! The walk wasn't channeling or much difficult, our tour guide was perfect on time for the pick up in the morning and drove us safely to Etna, the way to reach the mountain is quite impressive! The guide provided us with trekking shoes, jackets, walking poles and gloves. I will definitely come back to see Etna in spring. Highly recommended

We had an excellent day out. In hindsight probably I would choose summer for this tour; while the snow was atmospheric, it did kind of cover up the volcanic landscape. Nonetheless, the tour was well led by Ernesto, who had a pleasant manner. With the snow, was a bit harder than I had anticipated, and was actually glad they gave us walking poles, as well as other gear, as quite slippery in the melting snow. It was a fun and informative excursion; wasn't quite convinced on the need to slide on our backsides down one slope, and I was very glad we didn't have this trip on our last day, so we could at least change clothes once back in Catania. Overall, a very good trip and well led. Would recommend, but think carefully on the time of year and what is best for you. Drive up was very nice. Many thanks

We visited in February when there was still snow at the summit. The hike was incredible, with truly breathtaking views. Ernesto equipped us with everything we needed, including shoes, jackets, hiking poles, and gloves. The trail turned out to be more physically demanding than we had anticipated, but it was absolutely manageable and very rewarding. We highly recommend this experience. 10 out of 10 :) A quick tip: be sure to bring sunglasses and sunscreen!

Выбирали среди множества экскурсий и в итоге глаз упал на эту, ни разу не пожалели 😄 нас встретили в центре Катании, отвезли на удобном автомобиле, проезжали множество красивых мест по дороге. Благодаря нашему гиду у нас теперь есть классные фото в инстаграм и море впечатлений. Он был очень внимательным и ответственным, очень благодарны ему. После Этны еще заехали на вино, бутылочку конечно прикупили к себе домой. Очень рекомендую ☺️

In fact it was a "mini walk in the volcanic forest" instead of a Mount Etna Tour. We did not book a full summit tour but at least we were hoping to see the Mount Etna from a distance or Silvestri craters at minimum but we only by-passed Rifugio Sapienza and went to a black pine forest far below there. However going only up to 1886m (up to 1700m by minivan) instead of 2500m tells you a lot. And somehow, no explanations for anything at anytime of the tour at all, like playing a "guess what we're gonna do now?" game. But at least both guides were kind and friendly, thanks for the hospitality.

It was a complete disaster, we couldnt go the right track that we booked, because of bad weather, and thats ok, but we went down to 1800 meters for a light walk around a forest, nobody told us anything, whats gonna happen next so ur guessing the whole trip, by the time we got back from the walk it was the sunniest and clearest weather, perfect visibility and everything, and no we didnt go back up, we went to some little cellar "cave" that we spent 5 minutes inside instead of going up to etna and seeing something, when we told the quide that this isnt what we payed for and its good weather he told us that its not his problem and drove us back, terrible trip, dont book

La guida è arrivata all'appuntamento con venti minuti di ritardo. il van era sporco. Durante i trasferimenti la guida non ha detto una parola. Purtroppo abbiamo trovato un tempo terribile, l'Etna era completamente avvolto dalle nuvole e non si vedeva niente; nonostante la scarsa visibilità, la guida aveva un passo troppo sostenuto per alcuni di noi e non si voltata mai a vedere se eravamo tutti in fila. Gli è stato detto alcune volte di rallentare ma ha continuato al suo passo. Durante l'escursione ci ha dato delle brevissime spiegazioni solo durante le tre brevi soste. Molto deludente.
