From Rome: Umbria, Assisi and Orvieto Day Tour

Um dia maravilhoso. Orvieto é lindo e Assis indescritível. Uma viagem linda para todos mas muito especial para todos os católicos. Massimiliano é um motorista muito profissional e competente além de educadíssimo. Ellen foi muito mais que uma assistente nesta viagem. Uma simpatia meiga, educada e sempre atenta ao nosso bem estar. Mari que foi a guia em Assis conseguiu coroar esse dia maravilhoso.

We enjoyed Assisi. So remarkable and beautiful. The local guide was very thorough in explaining the history relating to the church and st Francisco. We couldn’t go inside duomo in Orvieto as we had to wait 30 minutes to get in. We instead had coffee break at the cafe in front of the church and admire the church building. Our guide was so helpful as we asked him to drive by a supermarket to buy groceries and so he did. The driver was very pleasant too. We recommend this tour to people who want to visit Assisi.

I was met by the guide who was lovely and knowledgeable, you saw her love for Umbria, St Francis of Assisi and Orvieto. I truly enjoyed Orvieto and the medieval church. I attended mass which was special. St Francis of Assisi was wonderful. Lunch was OK my biggest problem was that Get your Guide robbed me. They charged me for 2 people, & I am only 1 it was supposed to be a group tour for up to six people, and I was by myself with the guide & her driver. During the drive they were speaking in Italian to each other. We met up with her boss with her group of people that I probably should’ve been with & instead of uniting & having lunch with the group, they stuck me on the other side of the restaurant by myself. I didn’t even want to go I would have rather had something small & went in the shops. Get my guide- I would never recommend! They canceled my first tour, & I just got lucky finding it by accident. didn’t call, text Very disappointed! Same thing w/another cooking class.

It was more than we’d hoped for! Marie and Artur picked us up right on time and the trip to Assisi and Orvieto was perfect! Marie gave us ample time in each place (and Marco gave us an awesome tour). She gave us all the information we wanted about the basilicas and the areas, as well as a great recommendation for lunch! We had a wonderful experience and will recommend this tour for anyone who visits.

My mother’s sole wish for visiting Italy for the first time was to see Assisi, so I booked this tour from Rome as an alternative to staying in the city. From beginning to end, our guide Marie and driver Natalia were outstanding! It may seem silly, but I really enjoyed visiting Autogrill for coffee on the way to Assisi and again on the way back from Orvieto. I would have been intimidated to order coffee on my own in a new country not being aware of the procedures and culture, but Marie and Natalia offered suggestions and showed us how to order. When we arrived at Assisi, they introduced us to Marco, our local guide, who was extremely knowledgeable and patient with our group (we had two adults with some mobility issues). He slowed things down for us to make sure that everyone was comfortable and enjoyed the tour. Lunch at a beautiful restaurant just outside of town was delicious. My only wish I could book ten more tours with this group. So far it has been the highlight of our trip!

This was a perfect day trip from Rome. I was especially fortunate to be the only participant so it was great. Pietro arrived in a luxurious black Jaguar at my hotel for transportation. Wow! Monica was an excellent, very informative guide as was the local guide in Assisi. A delicious lunch provided a taste of Umbria. Magnificent art and history and blessings from St. Francis too!
