Pompeii Guided Tour with Archaeologist: Explore Ruins & Vesuvius Views

An exceptionally knowledgeable and engaged guide over the course of four magnificent hours - thank you Lello! Beyond the fine weather and moderate crowd, which were bonuses, Lello, a professional archaeologist and native of modern Pompeii, guided us through the intelligent layout and myriad deftly designed functions of a bustling mercantile ancient city, with many frills to offer the itinerant visitor, then as now. Fleshing out his narrative with vivid, often tucked-away details, Pompeii and its people came alive to us, as if walking and working and enjoying themselves alongside. We could not have been given a better or more valuable experience. If anything, we are keen to return. Our heartfelt thanks for a wondrous, most edifying and enjoyable tour! Sincerely, Henrik Otterberg & Gabriella Olshammar

Celia is an amazing guide. Her historic family connections and personal expertise in archeology made this the most educational experience. She brought us to so many overlooked gems that larger tours or independent exploration would have missed. By the time we finished our 4 hours with her, we had the knowledge needed to see so much more deeply. We recommend her and her group very highly.

Leonardo was a fantastic guide around Pompeii. He was passionate about the area and pointed out lots of hidden details that we would not have found on our own. Leonardo was really enjoyable to listen to with stories and descriptions of life in the time of Pompeii. He was friendly, knowledgeable, professional and took the time to learn our names. Hugely recommended and we wouldn't hesitate to book again

Leonardo gave us the best guided tour we have ever been on! Right from the very beginning, he was quick to understand what we were interested in and tailored the tour. He was excellent at taking us away from the crowds to see the hidden gems of Pompeii - exactly what we wanted. Leonardo is clearly very knowledgable and passionate about Pompeii, which paired with his clear knowledge of Classics made him a fantastic guide. We covered a large area of the site, and not only had a detailed explanation of daily life but he pointed out lots of intricate details that added real depth to our understanding. The highlight was the multiple frescos and understanding their context at the time, and what makes them so special. We would 100% recommend Leonardo as a guide!
