Montelupo Fiorentino: Master Potter Class with Workshop Tour & Shipping

This was the BEST activity we have ever done in Italy and we have been to Italy a few times. Matteo and his family are so welcoming and eager to teach! All the pottery is so beautiful and it was such an honor to learn from everyone! We highly recommend this activity and we will be doing it again the next time we come! We also bought additional pieces from the shop and were able to personalize them! They will ship them to your home for you, giving you beautiful pieces and memories that will last a lifetime

Blown away by craftsmen who have kept the beautiful tradition of ceramics alive. This little town of Montelupo is a treasure, our host Matteo said hello to everyone along the way, introduced us to his neighbors who make the most delicious ice cream, and the 81 year old Alberto who still happily puts all the finishing touches to his pottery pieces. The experience was priceless! The pottery lesson with Matteo’s father, a master ceramist was crazy. He made a bowl in less than 15 seconds! Nothing beats experience and the Florentine tradition. Thank you Matteo and your parents , and Alberto, for sharing your love for ceramics with us today. We will never forget it.

We had a wonderful day! Passion, happiness and kindness is what all family show about this experience and about this experience unique in Tuscany! My wife and me were absolutely amazed to see process of ceramic production done from people that dedicate all their life to this art because is an art what we saw going out from their hands. We enjoyed a lot and we suggest Italians like us and foreign absolutely to try this wonderful experience. Thanks to all family for this wonderful day.

This is one of the BEST experiences that I’ve booked! Matteo was an excellent guide and he explained the whole pottery creation process at the production factory thoroughly. Met the artisans working at the factory.. ahhhh-mazing! The wheel throwing session with Matteo’s dad was great. He showed me a different way to center, which I will now need to practice when I get home. All in all, what an incredible day. Totally loved every minute of it! Grazie Matteo and dad!

This whole experience was incredible! When we arrived Matteo greeted us so warmly and then continued the rest of the tour with so much enthusiasm. His family business is spectacular and their work is so special! The tour of the factory (with only 7 employees) was so eye opening especially when you can see how much care and time is put on each piece! We couldn’t help but order some custom pieces for ourselves! The hands on experience with Matteo’s father was also really great! I’ve done ceramics for over 2 years now and received a lot of tips and learned new techniques from him! It was so worth the value of the tour!

This was such a fun and unique experience! Matteo was extremely welcoming and it was very cool to see all the steps of the pottery making and hearing the history of the shop. It was my first time making pottery on the wheel and it definitely gave me an appreciation for how fast and precise the other artisans are when they work. I would definitely recommend this experience to everyone!

Matteo, his mother and father Salvatore were absolutely amazing. I had a very personalised experience being able to visit the factory to see how the entire process of pottery worked which I found to be very informative and insightful. Matteo took his time and answered any questions I had and I got to all of their incredible staff at work who were highly skilled and very friendly. You could see and feel Matteo and his family’s passion for pottery having the art in her family for over 5 decades. The masterclass itself was super fun and interactive. Matteo’s father was very patient and kind and made the whole experience so much more enjoyable. To finish, Matteo was able to make some local recommendations that were really helpful as a solo traveller. Would highly recommend this experience to anyone with a creative flare or just want to learn something new. Thank you Matteo, Salvatore and their entire team for making my stay so enjoyable. I will cherish these memories and experience.

Worth every penny for an authentic experience. Welcoming and friendly family business. Matteo was a wonderful guide. His father, the master was incredibly patient and fun to learn the skill of pottery from. Everyone in our family was so happy we were able to experience this as part of our trip. Well worth the trip to the town, easy to get to.

A wonderful experience from the beginning to the end. A very warm family ; Matteo explained and show me the interesting creative process behind the work, and you can meet the amazing team which works with passion and precision in each piece. Also showed me the Showroom where you can see the incredible and beautiful collection! Worth buying ! Later on, I never did pottery before, but met his father , made me feel so comfortable and taught me very specific how to make a bowl. A truly must do experience in you visiting Florence!!!!

This experience was one the most memorable and impactful things I’ve ever done in my entire life. Having done ceramics previously, seeing the extent of their work was amazing.
