Path of the Gods Hike: Scenic Trek from Agerola to Nocelle (Positano)

Enzo was an amazing guide! He was very knowledgeable and took the time to share the history of the area and point out the edible herbs along the way which we sampled. We stopped for a lemon slushy on the way down. He was also gracious enough to walk me and my son to Positano and helped us catch a ferry ride back to Sorrento. He went above and beyond!!!!

If you can only do one big thing on your trip I would say do this hike of the Path of the Gods with the guide Enzo. It’s a once in a lifetime experience with stunning views of the coast. I would advise to pick this tour with Enzo specifically, as he was incredibly adept at accommodating everyone’s different skill level and including plenty of breaks to not get too winded. As well as a lovely surprise stop at a goat farm for some rest and fresh farm food. Though we were lucky as this is dependant on how busy the place is. They are also brilliantly adept at being ready to support anyone who’s feeling unwell and maintaining safety. Enzo also provided lots of incredible information that really enhances the experience and your understanding of the area. Going above and beyond his way at the end of the tour to make sure everyone knew how to reach their end destination along the coast from Positano, where the best beaches were, and best food places to avoid tourist traps. Incredible!

Enzo was an amazing hiking guide! He’s certified, part of the park’s rescue team, and knows the trails like the back of his hand. I highly recommend going with a guide, since the paths can lead into other towns and signage isn’t always clear. Even when it rained, Enzo kept us safe, pointing out slippery spots and guiding us with ease. The best part would be his local connections he took us to see goats being fed and the cheese is made, adding such a special touch. He also came prepared with walking sticks, citronella wipes, and bug bite treatment, which was so thoughtful. Beyond all that, his storytelling brought the hike to life with history, mythology, and local traditions. And as a woman, I want to highlight how safe and comfortable I felt hiking with him. Truly unforgettable!

Excellent Path of the Gods walk. We had the two Enzo’s guide us due to the size of the group (over 10 people) and they looked after us really well. One walked at the front the other at the back of the group - they had walkie talkies so made sure we were all able to keep up with each other’s pace. We found the walk itself was relatively easy (two 60 year olds!) as it’s largely downhill and also in trees for welcome shade (although it was misty at the start the day we did it). Walking shoes recommended. It took about 3hrs with a stop at the shepherds hut for a great ‘snack’ of cheese, wine and bread. Just leave some cash as a contribution for how much you think it’s worth. At the end in Nocelle most people took the steps down to Positano which were tough, but the complimentary lemon slush at the end helps get you in the mood for it. All in all a great half day experience.
