Catania: Underground and Street Food Walking Tour

We had a wonderful experience on the underground Catania tour. Our guide was an archaeologist, and his knowledge and passion for the city’s history truly stood out. Even though not many underground sites were open at the time (Christmas Day), he thoughtfully adjusted the tour to include a great mix of interesting and lesser-known locations, making the experience feel full and engaging. His explanations were clear, insightful, and easy to follow, adding meaningful context to each site we visited. He brought Catania’s layered past to life and made the tour feel both educational and personal. A great experience for anyone looking to explore a deeper side of the city and learn from someone who truly knows its history.

De gids was zeer enthousiast en vertelde de mooie dingen over de historie van de kelders en oude delen van de stad. Zeker ''s avonds erg leuk om in het donker door de stad te lopen. Van de streedfood en drank tasting hadden we voor dit geld wel meer verwacht. Wat we geproefd hebben was lokaal eten en drinken wat we die dag al eerder in de stad gezien en geproefd hadden. Broodje en zoet alcoholvrij drankje. Hier hadden ze beter iets culinairs en een lekkere lokale wijn voor kunnen kiezen. Nu was het vrij veel geld voor een tour met goede gids en zeer eenvoudig eten en drinken.

The best tour for someone who wants to explore Catania but don’t have much time! Oreste, my guide was amazing, very knowledgeable and always brought up facts and curiosities about the places we were visiting. He even helped me to choose some fridge magnets and gave me tips on what to eat and what else to see in town! Just book it! I highly recommend!
