Varenna: Exclusive Alpine Foothills Picnic with Transport from Varenna

Maria is absolutely amazing!!! Such a sweet woman with so much joy and knowledge about Italy and Europe. She was accommodating and made this experience so much more special. The picnic itself was beautiful with breathtaking views, and the foods + wines were delicious. I definitely recommend this if you are looking for a fun local experience!

The tour was more than I expected! The transportation was comfortable and prompt. Our guide was pleasant and set a manageable pace. The food was fresh, local and delicious and the table was set elegantly It was a perfect day and my favorite day so far on my vacation. I highly recommend it. It is well worth the money and an unforgettable experience.

Maria and crew provided us with an exceptional experience! The bus driver, the “hike”, Maria’s knowledge, the views and the food were outstanding! Maria pays close attention to detail, is considerate to her tour guests needs and is a joy to talk with. The picnic provided a variety of local, fresh flavors along with breathtaking views of the Alps and Lake Como. This excursion was an 11 out of 10! What an amazing day we had in the mountains with Maria. A beautiful lady who provided an outing and food that was simply unbelievable. She made the day all the better by accommodating my wife’s birthday. We sang ‘happy birthday’ in the hills, and the other guests joined in whole heartedly. If you are planning only one special tour in Varenna, make it this one. My wife said it was the most memorable birthday she has ever had, and dare I say she’s had few 😀

Great experience! We were a group of 4 with adults and a teenager and everybody agreed was an excellent choice for our trip to Lake Como. If you want to change your vacation for half a day and be a away of the ferries this is a great real experience. Beautiful views, charming little stops and most amazing tour guide and the food was out of this world. The Alps and the views were beautiful, 5 stars!!!

Maria was AMAZING!! She has a passion for celebrating the local people in the smaller mountain villages outside of the touristy areas. We were able to see fantastic vista scenery of the Swiss Alps as well as Lake Como from a very different perapective! After our walk, we had THE most enjoyable, beautifully displayed, delicious food and wine! This experience is worth every nickel and will be remembered for many, many years! By far, my favorite activity in Italy!!
