Sirmione: Village Highlights Walking Tour & Lake Garda Boat Cruise

Francesca met us at the meeting point on the email and on time. There was just myself and my partner. The main part of the tour was centred on the castle and the surrounding town area of Sirmione. We started with a boat trip from one side of the peninsular and went all the way around back to the starting point while Francesca spoke about the history of the sights infront of us including getting very close to the castle and going underneath the draw bridge. I am an amateur photographer and took lots of pictures while engaging with Francesca who was very patient and knowledgeable and had pictures of the sights to help us understand. The tour then carried on back ashore and was really interesting and we visited areas I would not have found. Frances was great and we both really enjoyed the tour, it was our first day in Sirmione and I felt we had great insight into the town and the boat trip was a nice little extra. Totally recommend it and good value for money at £42

The boat ride was nice, but realized we could have booked once there for €10-12 each. We couldn’t really hear our guide she was so softly spoken, maybe headphones would be a better idea especially on the speed boat. The village highlight tour was hard to hear and we didn’t really engage with our tour guide the other family left with 45 mins left. 2 hours was probably too long and not worth the overall cost. A nice lady but maybe we needed someone a bit more fun.

I found the tour compared to previous tours I’ve taken through GYG, very disappointing. It started late due to a family group being late and although Francesca was very pleasant I found that there was a severe lack of enthusiasm and engagement regarding the product that was available. It’s definitely not a difficult / long walk with only about 6/7 stops max on the whole tour and long silences between stopping points. The boat part of the tour was severely affected by the constant rain and probably should not have gone ahead but unfortunately you can’t control that. Overall, on the day definitely not good value for money and I normally I leave these walks with what I feel is an extra bit of knowledge but unfortunately not on this occasion - I learnt nothing that couldn’t have been learned from just walking around on my own.
