Sicilian Cooking Class with Greek Theatre View

Me and my boyfriend came into this experience very excited as we were told that we were the only ones in the cooking class that evening. It turned out to be such a great experience and one of the best meals we had our entire italy trip! Maria was so patient with us as she teached us how to make pasta and we also made tuna ragu and the most deliciuos sea bass dish! We finished by having a fantastic meal and a great bottle of wine with a fantastic view from her balcony. So happy we did this cooking class and to meet Maria! :)

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und hatten viel Freude an der Pastaherstellung, bis auf eine Sache: Nicht gut fanden wir, dass mit Wein angestoßen wurde, obwohl zwei Teilnehmer noch keine Getränke hatten und Ihnen auch nichts angeboten wurde. Wasser gab es nur auf mehrfache Nachfrage. Das griechische Theater haben wir nicht gesehen, dafür konnte man vom Balkon aus Nekropolen auf der anderen Straßenseite sehen. Es waren sehr sympathische andere Teilnehmer dabei! Wir haben uns gefreut, sie kennenzulernen und haben uns sehr nett unterhalten. Vielen Dank!

Wonderful experience in Maria's home from start to finish. We were welcomed on time to her beautiful home. We really loved collaborating on what dishes to make that evening. Maria was a great instructor and really made sure we weren't just "going through the motions" so that we actually learned something. Every portion of the meal was absolutely delicious. Above all, we greatly appreciated the chance to talk with the hosts in their own home about their lives and experiences in Siracusa and beyond. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who wants to meet a local, or actually learn something about a dish, or eat delicious food - or all of the above.

We had the most incredible morning with Maria Rita. It was just the three of us, so she was able to accommodate our request for pasta, pasta and more pasta! It was fun, the food we cooked (and ate) was delicious, and I feel like I could do it all again at home. She's such a clear, helpful teacher. She didn't just let us do it wrong to make us feel good, she really taught us how to make it properly, which was exactly what we hoped for. Cannot recommend this experience highly enough. Thank you!

Maria Rita is ontzettend gastvrij! Voorafgaand aan de kookworkshop nam ze al contact op, om naar onze wensen te informeren. De ontvangst was hartelijk, met een mooi uitzicht vanuit haar appartement. Onder het genot van een wijntje werden we aan het werk gezet, waarbij we volop hebben gelachen met elkaar. Lekkere gerechten, relaxte sfeer, fijne gastvrouw!

I enjoyed this class from start to finish. Maria Rita was an informative and entertaining teacher in regards to Sicilian food. We cooked a beautiful pasta dish and a main course plus desert. Then we got to eat it in her beautiful dining room overlooking some ancient Greek ruins. Could not be better. Please do not miss this as an option. It was brilliant.
