Val d'Orcia Day Tour from Florence: Montepulciano, Montalcino & Tuscan Lunch

I did this tour from Lucca and it ended up being a 15 hour day which is way too long. Pick up from Lucca was a bit late and main bus had to pick us up on the way. It was a full tour - large group but was well organised for such a large number. The tour itself went reasonably quick but advertises 11 hours and was told 13 when I arrived. Tour guide was very experienced and informative. I felt the meal at the winery was ok a bit more pasta would have been appreciated the servings a bit more for some lot less for others. I was pretty pleased with the tour and I would recommend it but it is quite exhausting and I am a fit person.

Nous sommes arrivés à 30 minutes avant l'heure prévu j'ai fait voir mon bon d'excursion au guide getyourguide,nous somme allé au point de rencontre avons encore une fois montrer notre billet de réservation pour nous faire dire que nous pouvions entrer dans le bus 10 minutes plus tard nous nous sommes faite dire que nous ne sommes pas pas dans le bon bus et que le nôtre partira dans deux (2 ) heures. Nous avions dès notre arrivée senti que étions laissé à nous mêmes c'est plutôt un autre agence concurrente qui nous a aidé. Pour le tour lui-même intéressant.

After being in touch with the tour company several times, we were told specifically where to meet and what time. After 30 minutes of waiting, called the company and were told our pick up location had been forgotten (with 5 children under 10 at 6:45am, this was not ideal). After several calls and waiting another 30 minutes we were told a driver would be sent to get us. The driver went the wrong direction several times, so we missed out on a portion of the tour. We had arranged to leave the tour at the final stop and spend a night in that location. However, after finally meeting up with the tour, the itinerary had completely changed and the final stop would now be the next one (despite speaking with the company several times re: this). The tour was very crowded, lunch was horrible, and the entire tour seemed disorganized (our guide had to leave at one point to do another tour and as a result was late returning to our group--not the fault of the guide, but rather the company).

Im großen und ganzen ein gelungener Tagesausflug. Der Zubringer Bus nach Florenz kam morgens mit 30 Minuten Verspätung. An der Sammelstelle in Florenz herschte ein heilloses Durcheinander. Da wir diesen Ausflug mit deutschsprachiger Reiseleitung gebucht haben, waren wir sehr enttäuscht, daß diese Fahrt in sechs Sprachen durchgeführt wurde. Wenn wir an einer Sehenswürdigkeit vorbeigekommen sind, kam die Deutsche Ansage immer erst, wenn wir lange vorbei waren. Die Weinverkostung war sehr übersichtlich und praktisch im Dauerlauf vorbei. Das Mittagessen war in Ordnung. Die Landschaft und Sehenswürdigkeiten waren beeindruckend.
