Horseback Riding Experience in the Tuscan Countryside from Siena

The horses were great and the scenery was beautiful. I grew up barrel racing, while my partner has been on a few guided rides with me but is still fairly new. When the instructor asked if we knew how to ride, we said yes based on that experience. At one point, her horse went into an olive tree and she lost the reins. Once she got out, she called to the instructor to let him know there was an issue. I understand the need to be firm when horses are involved because situations can become dangerous, but instead of simply addressing the problem, he told her not to smile. She was smiling because she was nervous, not because she thought losing the reins was funny. At the end, when he asked how the ride went, I said the scenery and horses were great, but that telling her not to smile was unnecessary. His response was, “Well, you said you knew how to ride.” That left a disappointing impression after an otherwise beautiful experience.

Absolutely amazing experience! Everything felt very personal and individual, and the whole experience was wonderful. The horses are incredibly well cared for and in absolutely perfect condition. The route itself was breathtaking, with incredibly picturesque scenery and stunning views along the way. It was easily one of the highlights of our trip and left us with the best memories and emotions.

I took part in this tour with my sister, and as there were no other participants for that date, we ended up having a private ride with just the two of us and the guide. Since we are both experienced riders, we could trot and canter through the Tuscan hills and olive groves, which absolutely felt like a dream. Giulio, the tour guide was very kind and helpful. He always made sure everyone was comfortable and ready before speeding up. The horses were young, healthy, and visibly loved. Overall, I highly recommend it, especially for those who already know how to ride to get the most out of this experience!

The instructions for the location were perfect. We arrived at this lovely farm and saw the stables with the most beautiful horses. We were greeted by the lovely Giulio, the young Italian cowboy. He was very kind and was preparing our horses. As we had little to no experience at horse riding I was a little apprehensive about taking my kids to this activity. But Giulio understood and took the time to teach us how to hold the leash etc., until there were no questions that we could do that. The ride was at a perfect speed so I felt safe, it was through the lovely countryside of Tuscany on a just long enough trail. We had the best time and I am so pleased to have shared this experience with my family.

Non que la balade n'était pas plaisante, les points de vue sympathiques et les chevaux bien dressés ; mais le guide, Giulio, au départ agréable et affable, est devenu très vite irascible et vitupérant à notre endroit (un groupe de 3 amis, et des amateurs), ne nous parlant pas très bien et même hurlant pour des choses assez futiles (laisser boire le cheval ou le faire avancer) : il pouvait très bien nous le dire de façon pédagogue et avec le sourire ! D'autant que le cadre tout comme les montures (les chevaux) appelaient à ce même calme. Enfin, nous avions meme accepté de venir 2h plus tôt le matin sur demande expresse du dit Giulio. Bref, l'expérience serait parfaite avec un moniteur plus coopératif et moins bipolaire ! Tenez-le vous pour dit.
