Milan: Design and Fashion Walking Tour with Local Guide

We spent a full 3 hours with our guide Susanna who was very knowledgeable about Milan and the city’s fashion industry. She took us to places off the beaten tracks and to shops we didn’t dare enter. It was extremely interesting , we have a better idea of Milan and the vital role it plays in fashion. Susanne is trilingual, adapts to her clients and she is an absolute pleasure to hang out with an afternoon in Milan. When in Milan , do as the Milanese do. We booked the tour for 10am but the tour guide did not turn up. It took 45 minutes to finally speak to someone who apologised and rearranged the tour for 4pm but it meant we had wasted most of our morning and had to travel back and forth the meeting point. At 4pm the tour guide did turn up and the tour was interesting which we were grateful for.

Fernando is the GOAT! He’s the best tour guide we have ever had, unconventional in a great way. He adjusted the tour somewhat to accommodate our interests and questions. If you are a history buff Fernando is your guy. He not only showed us beautiful spots, but also historically important spots that altogether gave us a rich appreciation for Milan’s historical significance, expertly covering 2500 years of Milan history. If you’re not interested in that, and just want to look at some pretty clothes, maybe another guide might be better suited to you, but we loved loved loved this tour.

Nous avons effectué une visite privée à deux. Nous connaissons déjà bien Milan. Fernando est à l’écoute. Il connaît bien sa ville. Il nous a fait des recommendations de galeries, concept stores, restaurants qui nous ont plu, après avoir fait des recherches concernant nos goûts. Il connaît très bien la culture, nous a conseillé la visite d’églises particulières. Pour la prochaine fois! Son français est très bon. Il est tellement passionné et engagé envers ses clients, qu’il faut le canaliser. Lui dire exactement ce qu’on souhaite. Nous ne pouvons que le recommender.

We were a group of nine friends, all with a strong interest in tailoring and fashion, who took part in this guided tour in Milan. Our guide was excellent – he skillfully and warmly led us through the narrow and beautiful streets of the city. He shared stories and insights about Italian fashion, both historical and contemporary, and took us to fascinating spots we never would have discovered on our own. The tour was both informative and enjoyable – we were very pleased and can highly recommend this experience!
