From Milan: Small-Group Lake Como, Bellagio, Varenna & Waterfalls

Firstly our guide was amazing, she was great at communicating the whole way through the trip and before the trip, she messaged us where to meet was super friendly and seemed to really enjoy her job! However we felt the trip was quite drawn out and not what we expected from a small group tour. We found that the larger group tour to lake Garda was actually more comfortable being on a bus. The transport was described as first class train ticket but we boarded the train with a free for all luckily everybody on the group got a seat but the return journey was packed! We also packed our swimwear on multiple trips as explained in the 'what to bring section' but on all of our lake trips the guides never took us to any swim spots, despite us mentioning it so this was disappointing. To improve this it could be either included in the tour or just remove it to prevent tourists carrying around extra items in very hot weather! All of the places we visited in lake Como were beautiful.

On September 1st, my son and I have a wonderful day trip to Lake Como. Patrizia is my tour guide. She is so awesome, well organized and friendly. She is also very knowledgeable about history and local facts. Varenna and Bellagio are truly the two most stunning towns. The last stop of the tour is at Bellano, the hidden waterfalls( Orrido di Bellano) has a very nice view. Bellano town is quiet, less tourists. Suggest to spend more time enjoying the natural at waterfalls. Thanks again to my guide tour Patrizia for sharing the list what to do and where to go in Milan. I highly recommend this small-group tour to anyone.

We had a group of 9 people attend this full day tour. It was a great way to explore Lake Como and area with limited time from Milan. Our guide, Amato was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable about each area and gave us the best tips as to where to sit on the boat and where to go in each area. He answered all our questions, was attentive and friendly. Having Amato guide us through each place made it easy. The small group was better and tailored to our experience. We did wish we had more time in Lake Como and Bellagio. Varenna was nice but we could have skipped it. We had a private van take us back and our driver Fabio was a great driver. Overall a wonderful experience and would recommend over a large tour group.

Excellent trip. Context: weather turned grey with rains and it wasn’t a quintessential sunny day in summer. The group was small which meant we could meaningfully interact with the guid and with others in the group. The travel and itinerary were well thought with good time given for exploring towns personally. The enthusiasm of our guide (Francesca) and really interesting historical context kept the tour engaging. Bellagio and Bellano gorge were simply awesome; our breakfast by the lake at Veranna whilst it was pouring was a treat in itself. Highly recommend Francesca as a tour guide for her knowledge, passion and enthusiasm!
