   Our tour begins with a visit to the Basilica of San Clemente, a remarkable journey through three distinct historical periods. We will start in the Upper Basilica, built in the 12th century, where stunning mosaics and medieval frescoes illustrate sacred stories with rich detail. Descending to the 4th-century Basilica, we will step into a space once used by early Christians for prayer and gatherings. Finally, at the deepest level, we will explore the remains of an ancient temple dedicated to Mithras, revealing the complex layers of Rome’s spiritual past. Here, you will gain insight into how the first Christians sought refuge underground to freely practice their faith.

   Museum and Crypt of Capuchins Friars

   The second part of our tour takes us to the Capuchin Crypt on Via Veneto, an extraordinary site that preserves the bones of over 3,700 Capuchin friars. These remains have been carefully arranged in chapels, forming intricate designs that serve as a poignant reminder of life’s transience. The artistic compositions, created with human bones, reflect Franciscan humility and offer a striking meditation on mortality.
