Here's some information about it: Il Gigante is situated along the coastline of Monterosso al Mare, near the western end of the beach. The statue is a monumental figure of Neptune, the Roman god of the sea. It was originally built in the early 20th century as a decoration for a villa owned by a rich Florentine, but the villa was later destroyed during World War II. The statue, however, survived and remains as a prominent landmark.
