   Cervinia is a popular ski resort located in the Aosta Valley, Italy, at the foot of the Matterhorn. Situated at an altitude of 2,050 meters (6,726 feet), it offers excellent skiing conditions, particularly for beginners and intermediate skiers. The resort is part of the larger "Cervinia-Valtournenche-Zermatt" ski area, which connects to the Swiss side of the mountain, providing access to a vast network of slopes. Cervinia is also known for its long ski season, often extending from November to May due to its high altitude and access to the glacier.    Gornergrat

   The Gornergrat Railway (Gornergrat Bahn) is a historic cogwheel railway that connects the town of Zermatt to Gornergrat, a scenic viewpoint located at an altitude of 3,089 meters (10,135 feet), offering breathtaking views of the Matterhorn and other peaks of the Pennine Alps. Opened in 1898, it is one of the highest and oldest cogwheel railways in the world. The train journey, which takes about 30 minutes, travels through stunning landscapes, passing alpine meadows, forests, and glaciers, providing passengers with a unique experience in the heart of the Swiss Alps. Once at Gornergrat, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of over 29 mountain peaks, including the Monte Rosa, and can also take hikes or visit the scientific observatory located at the summit.
