Known as the "city of music" and often praised for its romantic atmosphere, Ravello is situated in a stunning panoramic location, nestled on one of the slopes of the Lattari Mountains. A tourist destination since time immemorial, its first settlement is of Roman origin (likely founded by dissident Amalfi patricians). Ravello boasts two of the most enchanting gardens in Campania, Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone. Villa Rufolo hosts the Ravello Festival every year, a prestigious classical music festival in honor of Richard Wagner, with its characteristic stage overlooking the sea. The village, the religious architecture—most notably the Church of San Pantaleone, erected in Piazza Duomo, which houses the saint's relics—the charm of the gardens and views, the villas, and the air steeped in culture make Ravello one of a kind.
