   Piazza dei Priori

   The Piazza dei Priori is the heart of the medieval city of Volterra, in the province of Pisa. Overlooking it are majestic palaces including the Palazzo dei Priori, hence its name, the Bishop's Palace, Palazzo Incontri and the Praetorian Palace.

   Porta all'Arco

   The Porta all'Arco is a city gate in Volterra, dating back to around the period between the 4th and 3rd centuries BC. This is the main access to the city from the south side, thus opposite the other Etruscan gate of Volterra, Porta Diana, to the north.

   Teatro Romano

   The Roman theatre of Volterra was brought to light in the 1950s by archaeological excavations conducted in the locality of Valle Buona by Enrico Fiumi, a historian from Volterra. The monument is dated to the end of the 1st century BC and its construction was financed by the wealthy Volterran Caecina family

   Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta - Duomo di Volterra

   The Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta is the main Catholic place of worship in Volterra, in the province of Pisa, the mother church of the diocese of the same name. In November 1957 Pope Pius XII elevated it to the dignity of a minor basilica.
