   Piazza Antelminelli

   Meet your guide in piazza Antelminelli. This is one of the most important squares in Lucca and owes its name to the Antelminelli family. At the center of the square there's a circular fountain dating back to the 19th century.

   Duomo Di San Martino

   We will reach the nearby St. Martin's Square overlooked by the Cathedral of Lucca. This religious building was consecrated in 1070 and features a Romanesque-Gothic style. After entering, we will see its treasures: the Holy Face of Lucca and the stunning tomb of Ilaria del Carretto.

   Piazza Napoleone

   The main square of Lucca was built in 1806 at the behest of Elisa Bonaparte, Napoleon's sister, and dedicated to him.

   Stop 4

   Stroll through St. Michael's Square, also called "Square of the Chains" due to the presence of marble columns connected by metal chains. It's overlooked by the Church of San Michele al Foro and various medieval buildings, such as the Palazzo Pretorio.

   Torre delle Ore

   Pass by

   The Clock Tower of Lucca is located along Via Fillungo. The clock is an interesting example of Roman style time measurement: the day is divided into hours of variable length, making the mechanism more complex to maintain.

   Via Fillungo

   Via Fillungo is the main street of the historical center. It still presents a medieval, irregular layout and it's lined with shops and cafes.

   This is the ending point of our tour. Amphitheater Square is a large, elliptical square surrounded by medieval buildings, cafes and restaurants.
