   The Vasari Corridor is an elevated and covered passageway in Florence, Italy, designed DA Giorgio Vasari in 1565 for Duke Cosimo I DE' Medici. It connects Palazzo Vecchio with Palazzo Pitti, passing through the Uffizi Gallery, above Ponte Vecchio and next to the Church of Santa Felicita. Built to allow the Medici family a safe and private passage between their residence and government offices, the corridor is about 1 kilometer long and offers unique views of the city. Originally built in the 13th century and redesigned in the 16th century DA Bartolomeo Ammannati, it is celebrated as the oldest elliptical arch bridge in the world, admired for its graceful and refined design. Destroyed during World War II and meticulously rebuilt using original materials recovered from the river, the bridge features Four Seasons statues on every corner. Ponte Santa Trinita is both an architectural gem and a quiet place to enjoy breathtaking views of Florence's river charm.
