Pompeii was a thriving Roman city until August AD 79, when Mount Vesuvius erupted, burying the city and its inhabitants under a torrent of burning pyroclastic flow and volcanic ash. During your visit, you'll step back in time to witness a moment of history frozen in place—viewing people preserved in death postures and ruins that have remained nearly untouched for almost 2,000 years. Please note: Tickets to the archaeological site and a tour guide are not included in this service.
