   After about a 45-minute drive from Todi, we'll arrive in Perugia.    On the way from Perugia to Castiglione del Lago, we'll travel along the beautiful shores of Lake Trasimeno. The lake is not only lovely but also historic. In 217 BCE, during the Second Punic War, Hannibal crossed the Alps with his elephants to defeat the Roman army.

   After a 40-minute drive around Lake Trasimeno, we'll arrive in Castiglione del Lago. This Medieval hamlet is on the list of the "borghi più belli d'Italia" -- the most beautiful villages in Italy.
