   Porta Romana is the southernmost gate of the walls of Florence. Located on the road to Siena and Rome, hence the name, Via Romana and Via de' Serragli converge from Piazza della Calza from the centre, making it an important access point to the city centre. The door appears in the list drawn up in 1901 by the General Directorate of Antiquities and Fine Arts, as a monumental building to be considered national artistic heritage.

   The fortress of San Giovanni Battista or Fortezza da Basso is a modern fortification work in the walls of Florence. Surrounded by the ring road avenues and within the Firenze Fiera exhibition complexes, today it is home to numerous conferences, concerts and national and international initiatives, in addition to the Opificio delle Pietre Dure.

   The Lungarno delle Grazie is that stretch of the northern bank of the Florentine Lungarno which goes from the National Central Library of Florence (Piazza dei Cavalleggeri, near the Canto dei Tardiboni) to the Ponte alle Grazie, from which it takes its name.
