   Vatican Museums

   You will admire the Trevi Fountain, a secretive masterpiece, and perhaps the most spectacular fountain in Rome. Built at the end of one of the famed aqueducts that supplied the Roman Empire with water, this iconic setting attracts many visitors.    You will head to the Spanish Steps, one of the city's most popular tourist attractions. As you stand and admire the Church of Trinità dei Monti, located at the top of the famous staircase, you will see the Fontana della Barcaccia at its base. You might wonder how this impressive structure was ever completed.

   Colosseum

   Visit from outside: the Colosseum, or Flavian Amphitheatre, is the largest ancient amphitheater and a symbol of Imperial Rome. Built between 70 and 80 AD, it hosted gladiatorial contests, animal hunts, and executions, accommodating 50,000 to 80,000 spectators based on social rank. Made of travertine limestone, this four-story elliptical structure features a complex system of vaults and arches.

   Circo Massimo

   The Circus Maximus was the largest stadium in ancient Rome, primarily used as a massive chariot-racing arena that could accommodate over 150,000 spectators. Situated in the valley between the Aventine and Palatine Hills, it remains a significant archaeological site that highlights the Roman passion for grand-scale public entertainment.
