From Sorrento: Pompeii and Vesuvius Tour by Minivan

Overall the trip was great and well worth it. With that said, would have liked to split it into two different days for each visit. We ended up not getting the hour break for lunch because the tour started late and ran slightly longer than 2 hours. This meant we had made it back to the bus for Vesuvio right at 2:15. We were suppose to leave 2:30 but did not leave until 2:45. Taking the train from and to Sorrento was easy to figure out but it always runs late if you are a later stop so beware!! Otherwise a great day to get steps in make sure to dress appropriately!

With the timing of the bus to Vesuvius we didn’t have time to really explore Pompeii on our own - our guide was not very interesting to listen to especially as there were children in the group and felt she could have could covered more in the time that we were there and in less detail. She very quickly turned 2 teenagers and their Mum off history! Which was a real shame especially as there was no other way of understanding Pompeii as no literature to read. Would recommend people just get the Audio guide and you’re free then to go where you want, press the number for the audit guide and not left at the end of the tour bored nor knowing what the other areas we didn’t see were about!! Vesuvius was great but drive was quite scary!!
