Milan: Private Tour of Highlights & Hidden Gems with a Local Guide

we didn't have a lot of time so only booked 2 hours with a local guide. it wasn't enough to scratch the surface of Milan beyond the famous sites but Shan did an excellent job of showing us through the city! He was a font of knowledge and a very entertaining, enthusiastic guide! Clearly proud of the city he calls home and it showed in his knowledge of its history. I highly recommend that you try this, but try book at least 3 to 4 hours if possible!

Avoid this activity at all cost. This is merely superficial chaperoning around town. This is not an in-depth experience. I had a similar activity in Vancouver, in Doha, and in Sydney. They were all enjoyable. The hosts asked me ahead of time what I want to see and do. I had to buy my own entrance tickets (as add-ons), but sure my host was around the entire time booked, as it should be since the host’s time is paid, but invisible when not needed. Where I got add-ons, there is a separate guide. This activity needs better description. It’s misleading. If I did not ask for the itinerary the night before, I would not have known about the nature of the activity: We’re just going to be roaming around town, just seeing things, not really fully experiencing them. Just mere descriptions. I canceled the activity. I thought it will be merely wasting my and the host’s time. The Operator can have my money. I just don’t want my time wasted for nothing. I will earn money, but I can’t earn time back.

Despite booking last minute and having our walking tour in the rain Shan provided a very enjoyable and personalized tour for myself and mother in law that provided us with information on the culture as well as places to eat, shop and visit for the rest of our time in the city. He even have us an umbrella to use for the rest of the day. Will definitely book again with Get Your Guide.
