Everything was very well organized and tailored to our interests. It was very easy to complete the tour using the instructions we received.

1. The meeting point isn't clear in the picture; there are two different locations—the information desk and the office—and we had to go inside; it was INSIDE the office. 2. The reservation I made stated that it included a visit to the Capuchin Monastery followed by the catacombs, and that transportation was included. When they explained the tour to us, they said that to get to the Capuchin Monastery, we had to take the “Big Bus,” and they gave us the ticket. The reservation mentioned “transportation,” not that we had to take the bus. 3. We were counting on the tour having a specific duration and planned our visit to the Pantheon around that time. Because the itinerary was changed and we had to spend time traveling to the other location—since the catacombs took the scheduled 3 hours, plus another half hour to get to the Capuchin Monastery and take the tour—we couldn’t eat until after the Pantheon visit.

The museum was very interesting; the crypt was, as expected, spooky but also awe-inspiring. Thanks to the admission management, the crowds were kept under control. Unfortunately, the trip on the Hop-On Bus was marred by an excessively long stop at Termini.

The price is completely out of line with the tour. There are two catacombs that are far apart. You’re taken to one by bus, and for the other, you get a bus ticket and have to figure out the timing yourself—we had a 3-hour bus ticket, which isn’t enough time given that the catacombs open at noon. €233 for two adults and a 6-year-old is too much when admission to the catacombs costs €10 on-site.

Molto male!

So much to like about this tour. The guide, the expérience. Only thing: it could have been longer. Loved being down in the catacombs!

The guide was totally boring, he told us very little about it and it was difficult to understand him. I think it was cheeky that we got such a guide. The tour was definitely not worth the money.

I have been to the catacombs and I must say that the impact is remarkable, an immersion in real history, not the history of books. The thing that impressed me most, however, was the guide. A young girl, very knowledgeable, who did not just repeat the usual notions. She explained the historical contexts and symbologies superbly, with an analytical clarity that made you connect the dots immediately. Truly a professional who enhances the site, making the tour educational and engaging. Next, I visited the Crypt of the Capuchin Friars with the attached museum. The entire museum tour, supported by an excellent audio guide, provides a basic background on the Order, before getting to the core. The Crypt itself is a work of extreme symbolism: the use of bones as a decorative element is not a macabre gesture, but a tangible and very powerful meditation on the transience of matter and the eternity of the soul. A heavy concept, but expressed with a theatricality that forces you to reflect. In short, it was an experience that goes far beyond a mere tourist attraction. I absolutely recommend it: it is a fascinating, historically relevant and conceptually stimulating trip. A must-see.

The guided tour was only available in the first catacomb. In the Capuchin Crypt we were simply handed an audio guide. And when we came out the driver was no longer there, after calling the organizer we were told that the tour was over and we had to see for ourselves how to get back. A completely overpriced tour! If you pay the entrance fees yourself and take an Uber, you save an incredible amount of money! We felt ripped off...

Excellent visit! Very good information from the guides and the design of the audio guide is also good. The visit is made in the context of a historical context and also in the context of a vision of religiosity and respect.
