   Meet your guide outside San Giacomo di Rialto, one of Venice's oldest churches and a fitting starting point for a tour built around the market next door. Take a look at its clock tower before the journey begins.

   Your first stop will be a family-run bacaro for a tramezzino cut to order and a spritz poured your way, a routine locals here have followed for generations.

   Browse the stalls of a market that has kept Venetian kitchens stocked for generations, fish laid out on ice, vegetables piled high, vendors calling out the day's prices. Note: Rialto Market closes at 1pm. However, evening tours still walk through the market and see where the stalls set up each morning.

   Ponte di Rialto

   Pass by

   Cross the Rialto Bridge and pause for one of the best views: the Grand Canal stretching out below, gondolas cutting through the water, palazzos lining both banks.
